A photographer from Switzerland filed a lawsuit against Apple in U.S. District Court in New York. The reason Apple is accused of taking the work of the photographer Sabine-Liewald-without permission to promote products MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
"Although it does not intend to use the photos and did not have a license it, Apple copy, publish, and use photos" close up eyes "belong to the plaintiff, including in advertising campaigns MacBook Pro, keynote addresses, and related advertising material without permission or compensation," wrote the demand filed on Wednesday (10/10/2012), as quoted from the Register.

Although not registered as copyright in the United States, Liewald's photo is protected by the Berne Convention country in which incorporated in it must respect the rights of copyright works of art and literature from other fellow citizens, and should be treated as citizens of their own copyright. Switzerland and the United States are both members of the Berne Convention.
