To note, the Sun is currently in the active phase of the 11-year solar weather cycle. The Solar activity is expected to peak in 2013.
The sun weather cycle is now known as Solar Cycle 24. Meanwhile, the Solar Dynamics Observatory has been observing solar weather activity since it launched in 2010.
