Bloodhound SSC, the new record World's Fastest Car
Posted by Unknown
World's fastest car Bloodhound SSC at speeds reaching 1,000 MPH or 1609 kilometers per hour, ready to test in 2013.
The development team of ambitious project this British Bloodhound SSC will test in the desert of South Africa, 2013. If all plans go smoothly, the car with the rocket would break the previous record time of 763 mph (1228 km / h).
"Indications are there about all this testing plan, excellent depth," explains designer and engineer Daniel Jubb, told the Western Morning News, when tested at the Royal Air Force hangar.
Bloodhound SSC has a hybrid electric power. Rocket using solid fuel, which is a synthetic rubber and turn it into an aerosol with t peroxide and a catalyst.
Actual fuel rocket was fired into by a Cosworth engine of the type of engine used in Formula One racing cars. Then all the forces combined with the thrust of a jet engine as in the Typhoon fighter aircraft.
Hybrid rocket produces 14,000 pounds of thrust, equivalent to about 40,000 horsepower. Additional boost from fighter jet engines, bringing the total power the car reaches 135,000 horsepower. It's a thousand times more powerful than conventional hybrid cars like the Prius.
Bloodhound SSC will be driven by Royal Air Force pilot Andy Green, who already holds the current land speed record vehicle was ThrustSSC.
