What rights did the Natives have in the 18th and 19th centuries when Europeans invaded their lands, and massacred most of them? Did they respectfully ask the Natives if they could immigrate? No? They walked in as if they owned this land. As a Canadian, I'm ashamed to say that this happened in my country too.

Why not go back and say "Well, Homo Sapiens themselves 150,000 years ago migrated to Europe from Africa and exterminated native Neanderthals. So why don't we just go and exterminate Europeans today and take Europe?"

I have been to just one of their meetings in bay area and found it to be a bit childish and full of fake people, people trying hard to portray themselve to be your best friend when in reality they are not

I have a unique situation
1. My PD is EB3 July 2004.
2. My wife's PD is EB2 Jan 2005
3. I am dependent on my wife's 485 filed on July 2007. Her I140 is approved.
4. I switched job on EAD I got from her adjustment application,but earlier company has retained my I140 application.
The H1 from earlier company expires in August 2008.
Question is what are my options regarding using my I140.
1. Can i port my PD for my Wife's application, since it is 6 months earlier ?
2. Is there a possibility that I can use my I140 whenever it is approved to get an EAD independently since I have already applied for adjustment from my wife's application and not be a dependent on my wife's case.

About the cheques u're right, that's how we have done it. Separate personnal cheques for each of us, easy to track online.
Hopefully we are not out-of-status and my husband's employer is not on th black list.

More likley to happen is most EB-2 upto Dec 2005 getting approved, many in early 2006 getting approved.
I am very very skeptical about the claim that USCIS moved the dates to June 2006 in a random fashion. They could have moved it to Dec 2005, but they moved it to June 2006 because they have the ACTUAL GC numbers (unlike us:)) and they have an estimate of how many could be adjudicated.

The VIP culture and the sense of entitlement in India is sickening :mad: I would understand if George Fernandes had raised a fuss since he was travelling as a diplomat, but SRK is pure dung!! I filed my I-485 in July last year. My PD is EB2-Feb 2007. I could not file for my wife since she is pursuing her medical residency on a J1 visa with the 2 year HRR requirement.
My queries are as follows:
1. Will I be able to interfile for her once my PD is current and she has completed her J1 waiver?
2. For the interfiling to happen does she need to be done with her J1 waiver or even when she is pursuing it as that is a H1B visa?
3. If I get my green card before she is done with her waiver then can I still file for her later or will her case then be treated as a family based petition?
I will really appreciate if you can provide some insight regarding the same.

REALLY? Is it a coincidence that a desi company owner will usually have 99% of his emploees Indian? Thinking that employment depends only on skills is not realistic. A lot of the networking based on national origin interferes with how at least H1 jobs are landed here. So there is a reason to have rules preventing a monopoly.

for people who want to invest, there is a investor visa(gc). The limit of investment is little higher though, so only few out of the current EB line will get out. Yes line will get shorter.
I dont think buying a greencard for 100,000$ or for any money is wise. You already are paying enough taxes, paying legal fees.... and of course spending ur prime here waiting for a permanent resident status.
So let them grant GCs if they feel like. Dont bribe ur way in!!
Also if one bought a home and then got a GC, lets say he sold the home right after... what abt it....!!

Life's not simple. It's not A or B. It's usually A and B that succeeds. Like I mentioned in an earlier post going ahead with option A (lawsuit) closes option B ( meetings and negotiations).
Best approach is IV keeps option B (lobbying) open while a group that agrees option A is better continues to pursue it. There is a lot of support for this measure here. What it lacks is a convinced leadership! Once the leadership emerges and there is action on the ground, who knows, the skeptics may join too.
Totally agree. A and B are not mutually exclusive. We need to push for admin fix and in the meantime explore lawsuit possibility WITHOUT using IV name (does not mean IV members cannot participate as individuals in the lawsuit).
